The Camellia Sinensis var. Sinensis tea plant is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub that can reach 2-3 meters in height and the same in width after around twenty years. Generally well adapted to temperate to continental climates, it can withstand sub-zero temperatures down to -12°c, and even -15°c on certain cultivars.
It requires acid soil (pH<6), preferably > 60% humidity, medium to high rainfall, well-drained soil and exposure to sun or shade.
