The tea plant, or Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica, is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub that can reach 2–3 meters in height and width after about twenty years. Generally well-suited to warm climates, it can tolerate negative temperatures down to -7°C.
It requires acidic soil (pH < 6), preferably high humidity (> 60%), moderate to high rainfall, well-drained soil, and an exposure ranging from shade to full sun.
